With a combination ticket, you can go straight to the Kinderdijk visitor centre and windmills, combining transport and entry in one immersive experience.

What is a combination ticket Kinderdijk?

A combination ticket gives you the complete Kinderdijk experience. It includes a return journey on the WaterShuttle as well as admission to all visitor attractions at the Kinderdijk World Heritage Site.

With this ticket, you can:

Travel on the direct WaterShuttle service between Rotterdam and Kinderdijk.
Visit the interiors of two museum windmills.
Enjoy a boat tour past the windmills.
Watch the introductory film and explore the Wisboom Pumping Station.
Listen to free audio tours via the online Kinderdijk Guide.

Can I cancel, return or exchange my purchased combined ticket?

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to the Watershuttle Terms and Conditions. Once a ticket has been purchased, it cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged.

Do you offer special fares or discounts for people with a disability?

At the moment, we unfortunately do not offer a discount scheme for people with a disability and/or accompanying persons.

Can I return earlier or later than indicated on my ticket?

Yes, this is possible, subject to availability.

Where can I purchase the WaterShuttle – Kinderdijk combination tickets?

Combi tickets to Kinderdijk, including a return trip on the Waterbus and access to the windmills, are available via our webshop.

What is the difference between Waterbus public transport and WaterShuttle?

Waterbus operates a fixed timetable where passengers can check in and out using their public transport card or bank card. The WaterShuttle is a tourist service with its own sailing schedule between Rotterdam and Kinderdijk.

How long does the trip from Rotterdam to Kinderdijk take?

A one-way journey takes about 30 minutes.

Is my WaterShuttle ticket valid on the Waterbus?

No, your WaterShuttle ticket is only valid on the WaterShuttle.

Is my Waterbus ticket valid for the WaterShuttle?

No, you’ll need a separate ticket for the WaterShuttle.

Can I pay with cash?

Unfortunately not. We only accept debit or contactless payments for everyone’s safety and faster boarding. You can pay with your bank card, credit card, Apple Watch, or digital payment card.

Can I use my Waterbus Tourist Day Ticket on the WaterShuttle and to Kinderdijk?

Unfortunately not. The Tourist Day Ticket is only valid on the regular Waterbus routes.
Since 6 October 2025, Waterbus no longer operates services to Kinderdijk. This connection is now provided by WaterShuttle, a tourist line with its own sailing schedule between Rotterdam and Kinderdijk.

Where can I buy a WaterShuttle ticket?

Tickets (single and return) can be purchased on board and via our webshop. In addition, in cooperation with Kinderdijk, we offer a combined ticket that provides access to both the WaterShuttle and the windmills of Kinderdijk.

Can I take my bicycle or scooter on board?

Yes, that’s no problem. There are no extra costs.

Are there toilets on board?

Yes, toilets are available. Please ask the steward for assistance if needed.

Can I bring my dog on board and is there a fee?

Dogs are welcome on board if kept on a lead. There is no extra charge.

Is the WaterShuttle accessible for wheelchairs?

Yes, the WaterShuttle is wheelchair accessible, but usage is at your own responsibility.
